A Farmers Branch teen who was shot and killed by a police officer, has been laid to rest.

Officer Ken Johnson posted $150,000 bond on a murder charge for killing 16-year-old Jose Cruz. Johnson claims he saw two teens break into his car. Despite being off duty, he chased the teens in his personal vehicle, killing Cruz and wounding Edgar Rodriguez.

Carlos Quintenilla is the Cruz family spokesman, and says they are looking to sue both Johnson and the city of Farmers Branch.

"We are also asking the federal government to intervene to see if there was any civil rights violations. We don't trust the judicial system, because the system has already shown us its flawed by allowing this murderer to get out."

He says the family wants Johnson's bond revoked.

"The evidence was overwhelming and emphatic. And so we are asking the judge to revoke the bond because we find the bond given to this murderer is shameful."

Johnson's lawyer suggested that Johnson's case was handled differently by not giving it to the grand jury first, because he is black.
