DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - On Sunday night, December 20, Dallas Police say they received a call a dead body in the 9900 block of Hurley Way.

Officers arrived and found a man who appeared to have been stabbed to death.

The people who went into the home first and had called 9-1-1 were questioned by detectives.

The witnesses told officers that two weeks ago on December 6,  they took Marcos Andres Jimenez, 17,  to a medical facility to treat a deep laceration to his finger they say he said he had cut on a fence.

Police say Jimenez told the witnesses after he was treated and released from the hospital, that he had killed someone and if they told anyone, he would kill them.

The witnesses told police they didn't believe him and didn't take his statement seriously.

On December 18, police say Jimenez asked the witnesses how long a person would live if they were stabbed in the neck.

Police say Jimenez showed one of the witnesses a bag that contained prescription medication and jewelry.

The witness took a photo of the prescription bottles with a cell phone. There was a name and an address on the prescriptions.

On December 20, 2015, the witnesses went to the 9900 Hurley Way to verify Jimenez's story.

The witnesses found the rear door open and a large amount of blood in the kitchen. The witnesses went in and found a dead man in the hallway. The witnesses left the home and called 911.

Police say victim has not been positively identified at this time.

Jimenez was taken into custody Monday morning and is being held on a charge of Capital Murder with a $1,000,000 bond.
