UPDATE: 9:50 a.m. CST: According to the arrest affidavit for Cary Joseph Heath, he taught class at Permenter Middle School in Cedar Hill after allegedly admitting to two people that he had killed his neighbors.

Heath was arrested at the school after the children had left for the day.

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Fort Worth Police have arrested a middle school teacher for Sunday's double murder on Buffalo Springs Drive.

Police said Cary Joseph Heath, 35, was arrested for capital murder without incident at Permenter Middle School in Cedar Hill.

Heath is currently being held at the Fort Worth Jail with a $1,000,000 bond.

Cedar Hill ISD said Monday night Heath is on administrative leave.

Heath was an eighth-grade science teacher who served in the Air Force according to his biography on the Cedar Hill ISD website.

Investigators were busy at Heath's house Monday night removing potential evidence.  Multiple rifles and other weapons were found inside the home, sources tell CBS11.

Two men were shot to death early Sunday morning in an ordinarily quiet Fort Worth neighborhood.

Sources tell CBS11 Heath and the victims were neighbors and an assault rifle was used in the deadly shootings.

Crime scene investigators collected evidence while detectives interviewed family members and neighbors trying to piece together what led up to the shootings.

Investigators tried to reassure neighbors who are not used to this kind of activity.

"That is unusual for this neighborhood. We don't have violent crime issues at this part of Fort Worth, so I can understand how neighbors in this area would be concerned," Fort Worth Police Sgt. Marc Povero said.
