FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM) - Some of the stars on TCU's sprint relay team have seen success on the gridiron as well.
"We have two track guys and two football guys," says Sam Watts. "They bring a different dynamic, that's fore sure."
Kolby Listenbee says, "I'm a football guy running track. I do track for fun, to stay in shape."
"I'm definitely a football player running track," says Cameron Echols-Luper.
"I played football for like a week in high school. It wasn't my thing," says Ronnie Baker.
And it really wasn't Sam Watts' thing growing up in London.
"I know nothing about football at all. It was so confusing to me when I first came here. Honestly I had no idea what it was," says Watts. It's actually become one of my favorite sports now. Never miss a game now.
The highlight came when his roommate Kolby Listenbee threw a touchdown pass in the Peach Bowl.
"So it's kind of cool running with Kolby," says Watts.
"He's just a big goofball, like a three-year-old stuck in a 21-year-old body," says Echols Luper.
And now the class clown and his sprint relay teammates believe they've got a good shot to win a National Championship this week.
"I just think man for man we can run better than anybody in the country right now," says Watts.
