DALLAS (KRLD) -- Looking for something to do this weekend in the Dallas-Fort Worth area? KRLD's Tasha Stevens has some ideas for you!

-- Now this is how you kick off your fall season, with fishnet stockings, water guns and freakiness. Be at the Wyly Theater Thursday night for Dallas Theater Center's The Rocky Horror Show.

-- "Cool Thursdays" at the Dallas Arboretum will feature the Bon Jovi Experience of Blaze of Glory. You can snack on tasty treats from local food trucks, and take part in the weekly costume contest that has a grand prize of an overnight stay for two at the Renaissance Hotel Dallas/Richardson.

-- Tickets for A Night with Chrissie Hynde will go on sale Friday morning at 10 a.m. Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders will perform at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18 at the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House in the Dallas Arts District as part of her 25-date North American Tour.

-- This deal sounds cool as all get out. It is described as "What the past would look like if the future had happened sooner." This weekend, Heritage Village will host Steampunk Invasion, the first Dallas Steampunk convention set on a 20 acre site of historic buildings and featuring three days of entertainment, crafts, vendors, and whimsy. Basically, you will feel like you've stepped back in time 100 years.

-- This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Toadies platinum album Rubberneck. Friday night at Panther Island Pavilion, the guys will play the entire album, beginning to end. This is actually the last time the band performs Rubberneck.

-- Attention all ye lovers of the beer. This Saturday at the Dallas Farmers Market, it is the 4th Annual Dallas Observer BrewFest. BrewFest is an outdoor beer-sampling event and festival that will feature craft beers, local food vendors and live music!

-- Friday night at Gexa, you can see Nashville natives Kings of Leon.

-- It's time again for North Texas' biggest celebration of wine! We are talking wine tastings and grape-centric dining, plus a festival with music, booths and more. Check out Grapefest in downtown Grapevine this weekend.

-- Several animal welfare-organizations in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex are hosting the 6th Wags and Waves family and dog event at Hawaiian Falls Water Park this Saturday, September 13th. All proceeds will benefit Dallas Companion Animal Project, Feral Friends, Legacy Boxer Rescue, Cat Matchers and DFW Rescue Me. Wags and Waves will have Canine Contests, Entertainment and Demonstrations along with the opportunity to float down the Kona Kooler Lazy River and catch some waves in the Waikiki BeachWave Pool.

-- If you or someone you know excels in ballet, the Moscow Ballet will be holding 3 open auditions this Saturday and Sunday in Dallas, Garland and Richardson. 60 student dancers will be selected to perform side-by-side with the professional company of 40 Russian dancers in the Great Russian Nutcracker at McFarlin Auditorium at SMU Nov. 22 and Nov. 23. Applicants must be between 7 and 16 years old, have at least one year of ballet training, dress in dance attire and may bring Pointe shoes.

-- Here is a chance to succumb to your guilty pleasure of Britney Spears. Celebrate her new album with the Britney Spears Sing-Along Dance Party Thursday night at the Alamo Drafthouse in Richardson. Don't worry. We won't tell anyone.

-- The first time I heard this band, I thought it was Rush due to the vocals -- then I saw the singer. This band rocks and you have a chance to see them live this Monday the 15th at the Southside Ballroom. Check out Coheed and Cambria.

-- The Spirit of the Cowboy Festival is set for this Friday and Saturday at Chestnut Square in McKinney. The 3rd annual Spirit of the Cowboy Festival will include music, dancing and tons of stuff to buy. Plus, a bunch of the cowboys you saw on TV and the big screen growing up will be there as well.
