KRLD -- Where inside or out, there are plenty of concerts, festivals, and family-friendly events happening in North Texas this weekend! Tasha Stevens brings you the best!
-- If you love baseball (and even if you don't), you'll like this exhibit. The "Baseball: America's Presidents, America's Pastime" exhibit showcases how baseball has mirrored trends in society. The George W. Bush Presidential Library and Museum is using baseball-related documents and artifacts from its archives as well as from other presidential libraries.
-- The Fort Worth Food and Wine Fest: BBQ with Billy Bob's Texas featuring Wade Bowen is on! The four-day festival kicks off Thursday night and will showcase barbecue from about a dozen restaurants, including Tim Love's Woodshed Smokehouse and Black's Barbecue from Lockhart, plus beer, wine and spirits, and country music by Wade Bowen.
-- Thursday night at The Bomb Factory, see Dallas native Erykah Badu.
-- You saw the movie and have heard "Let it Go" a gazillion times. Now you can see the thing on ice. Check out Disney Frozen at the AAC Thursday through March 29.
-- Here is an opportunity to snag that designer handbag you have been dreaming of while helping out an awesome organization. The Heroes and Handbags 10 Year Anniversary Gala coming up this Saturday, March 28. This year Heroes for Children is a celebrating their 10th anniversary of Heroes and Handbags in style with a luxury handbag auction, cocktails, surprise entertainment, dinner, and dancing with all proceeds benefiting Heroes for Children – which strives to provide financial and social assistance for families battling childhood cancer.
-- Visit Borneo without ever leaving town. The Borneo exhibit at the Dallas World Aquarium and Zoological Garden features Australasian birds, fish and mammals.
-- If you really want to prove your gaming prowess, attend the 2015 Texas Pinball Festival this weekend at Embassy Suites Frisco. You may think it is a breeze, but getting those freaking flippers to do what you want them to is a pain in the butt. This show draws people from all over the United States because it is the largest show in the industry. Over 400 vintage and new pinball machines will be set on free play and there will also be pinball tournaments throughout the weekend.
-- Hard to believe it has been 20 years since the world lost Tejano Superstar Selena. This coming Sunday at the Texas Theater, you can catch a Selena Special Screening courtesy of The Oak Cliff Cultural Center. Best part -- the thing is free.
-- One of nature's most beautiful presentations of color is happening now at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden. The pink and white cherry blossoms on the Arboretum's 150 cherry blossom trees are bursting open, so get on over there and take tons of selfies!
-- These Arlington natives have been having an awesome year. The 5 member a cappella pop group won the third season of NBC's The Sing Off, and they dominated the 57th Annual Grammy Awards with Grammys for Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella. See Pentatonix at Verizon Theatre on Sunday.
-- It is crawfish time ya'll, and you know what that means -- the 3rd Annual Mudbug Bash! This Saturday, grab the family and head out to Main Street Garden for some crawfish, Live Music, Games, Beer, Specialty Drinks, and new this year -- Armadillo Racing, a Bayou Beard Contest, and Cajun and Zydeco Dance contests.
-- For such a little woman, this chick can produce some major sound. I hurt watching the veins in her neck while she is singing. See country music's Martina McBride this Saturday at Billy Bobs.
-- If you have considered fostering an animal that needs a forever home, you might be interested in this. Operation Kindness, the original and largest no-kill animal shelter in North Texas, is hosting an online webinar to introduce the new Talent Foster Agent Program. This thing involves volunteers fostering shelter animals, and then marketing them via social media and outings in the community to get them adopted. The webinar is set for this Saturday at 10 a.m.
-- Get those cowboy boots out of the closet. The 58th Annual Mesquite Rodeo Parade is happening this Saturday. Horses, bands, and floats will wind through downtown Mesquite during the annual parade that begins at 10 a.m.
-- This Saturday night at the Bomb Factory, see Texas' own The Toadies.
-- Why should kids have all the fun at Easter? This year, we grown-ups can have our own Adult Easter Egg Hunt at the Heritage Farmstead Museum. Friday night, just bring a flashlight and a basket as you hunt for more than 1,000 eggs hidden around the museum property, each holding a special prize such as gift certificates, coupons, and other treats.
-- Celebrate Easter with your furry baby this year at Three Dog Bakery in Southlake. Their "Easter Begg Hunt" is happening this Saturday, and attending will really be worth your while. One lucky dog will win free dog food for a year.
-- Get a little Peace, Love & Paws this Saturday afternoon at Strokers Ice House. Over 20 rescue groups will be on hand to pre-screen potential families for forever homes. There will also be games, doggie kisses booth, a fashion show, and a canine costume contest.
-- The 2015 Zoo Run at the Fort Worth Zoo is happening this Saturday. The 18th annual Zoo Run! will allow you to run, walk or jog your way through the Zoo and surrounding neighborhoods in support of the Zoo's local and international conservation and education efforts.
-- So you think you know everything there is to know about Star Trek? Here is your chance to proudly display your inner trekkie. Geeks Who Drink this Saturday at Bryan Street Tavern will feature "Resistance Is Futile: A Star Trek Quiz".
-- Own your oldness, people. Celebrate your ample years with The Breakfast Club 30th Anniversary Screening at the Angelika Film Center & Cafe in Dallas Thursday night.
