Woman charged in Fort Worth DWI stop that ended in chase, crash

FORT WORTH (CBSDFW.COM)  A woman was arrested on Wednesday after, Tarrant County sheriff's deputies say, she led them on a chase that ended in a crash and rollover.

Nikki Davis, 38, was charged with driving while intoxicated and evading arrest on Nov. 16, 2022, after she crashed into another vehicle and tore through a barrier following a chase with sheriff's deputies, injuring herself and another person.

According to a spokesperson with the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office, just before 4:30 p.m., a sergeant noticed a vehicle parked on the side of Hwy 183 near River Park Dr. with a shattered driver-side window.

The sergeant stopped and began speaking with the driver, Davis, who allegedly showed signs of intoxication and drove away. Sheriff's deputies began pursuing Davis, who crashed her vehicle near I-30 and University Dr., causing a bystander's vehicle to rollover.

Davis and the bystander both sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment. Davis was arrested shortly after being discharged.

Another vehicle was hit in the chase, causing it to roll over. Two people sustained minor injuries in the wreck. Chopper 11

Davis was also charged with evading arrest in relation to an incident earlier that day involving Benbrook police. She is currently being held at the Tarrant County Jail.
