FRISCO (AP) - A North Texas man and his girlfriend have been arrested after police say he stole an SUV with two toddlers inside.

23-year-old Tony Ortega Jr. and 24-year-old Maricella Segoviano were being held at the Collin County Jail on Wednesday morning. Ortega is charged with two counts of child endangerment and they are both charged with theft.

The owner of the SUV left his 2-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter inside of the running vehicle on Monday before it was stolen. He tells police he chased the car for about a block before Ortega abandoned it and fled on foot. The children weren't injured.

Police say they later found Segoviano with the man's stolen wallet.

Online jail records didn't list attorneys for Segoviano or Ortega.
