UPDATE: Lockdown Lifted; Air Base Bomb Threat Suspect In Custody

NAVAL AIR STATION FORT WORTH JOINT RESERVE BASE (CBSDFW.COM) - Naval Air Station Fort Worth Joint Reserve Base has given the all clear message following the bomb threat issued at the Main Gate Thursday morning.

The base resumed normal operations to regularly scheduled gate traffic shortly before 4:00 p.m.

Earlier, Naval Security Forces detained someone who allegedly made the bomb threat.

Naval Criminal Investigative Service members questioned the suspect and took the person off the base.

According to sources, bomb disposal crews were called to deal with a suspicious package delivered to the main gate at the base just before 9:30 this morning and the base was put on lockdown.

A remote procedure to investigate the suspicious package on base was conducted through joint efforts of 301st Fighter Wing Explosive Ordnance Disposal team and the Fort Worth Police Department EOD team around 2:15 p.m. Thursday.
