Suspect Reportedly Shot, Killed By Homeowner Identified

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Dallas County Medical Examiner released the name of the man allegedly shot and killed by a home owner on Tuesday in east Dallas.

Eric Rocha, 22, along with at least two other suspect attempted to break into an occupied home in the 2600 block of Lakeland Road early Tuesday morning according to Dallas Police.

Police say a witness told them the suspects were spotted only minutes before the shooting driving back and forth near the victims home.

The suspects reportedly fired on the home owner, who returned fire.

Rocha has arrests and convictions out of Dallas County.

Police are searching for the other suspects.

The homeowner was questioned and released.

The neighborhood has stepped up citizen patrols with the certified Volunteers In Patrol (VIP) program in the area.
