Suspect Charged In May Shooting Death Of Security Guard

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -- Police have charged a 31-year-old man with capital murder in the May shooting death of a security guard at a Dallas business.

Donald Kovar was shot and killed at 4639 Irving Boulevard on May 14 when the location was robbed by two men.

Physical evidence ties Rico Lara, 31, to the crime. Lara was also positively identified in a photo line-up as being involved in the offense.

Lara is currently in jail on unrelated charges. He has been charged with capital murder and is being held on $1,000,000 bond.

A second suspect, known only as "Primo", has not been identified. He is described as a 30- to 35-year-old Latin male, standing 6-foot and 200 lbs.
