DALLAS (AP) — Dallas police have arrested a 53-year-old man and charged him with capital murder in the shotgun shootings earlier this month of four people, killing three.

The shootings happened in the pre-dawn hours Jan. 4 at a house in far southeastern Dallas. Two were dead at the scene and another died later at a hospital.

A police statement says a tip led police Friday to the house next door to the shooting scene. With the resident's consent, police confiscated a shotgun for testing and concluded it was the weapon used in the shootings.

Jack Diwitt Hunt has been booked into the Dallas County jail with bond set at $500,000. Jail records list no attorney for Hunt.
