TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Thanksgiving smells like bacon for most Texans.

The state ranks number one in the number of people who wrap their turkey in bacon, according to Honeysuckle White-brand turkey, which compiled some  facts from a national survey the company conducted.

Texas also ranks in the top three states watching football on Thanksgiving, right behind Colorado and Oklahoma.

Nearly half of Texans go to two or more Thanksgivings, too and 91 percent ranked turkey an important part of the Thanksgiving meal while only 64 percent said cranberry sauce was important.

While dinner guests are feast hopping between Tryptophan induced naps, there's little rest for many hosts. Twenty-five percent of Texas hosts awake before 6 a.m. to start preparations for the big meal.
