Support Grows For Making Juneteenth A National Holiday

NORTH TEXAS (CBSNEWS.COM) — More Americans support making Juneteenth — the annual commemoration of the emancipation of enslaved people in the U.S. — a national holiday than oppose the idea, according to a Gallup poll.

Texas in 1980 became the first state to officially recognize June 19 as a state holiday.
