Study: Deciding On Health Insurance Is Worse Than Talking To An Ex

(CBSDFW.COM) - How much time do you spend picking out a health care plan? And how much do you actually dread looking at all of your options?
Aflac's new 2016 Open Enrollment Survey indicates 48 percent of employees would rather walk across burning hot coals, or talk to an ex, than pick a health plan.
Choosing your benefits plan is important to your health and your wallet. When the enrollment window is open many people said they learned about their benefits during this time frame instead of throughout the year.
About 93 percent of employees choose the same plan every single year and almost the same don't even spend one hour looking at other options. These choices lead to mistakes and a hit to the wallet.
The study asked what could improve employees enrollment experience and about half would like to see something similar to Amazon. They want a way to easily compare plans side-by-side.
The study also points out other ways to make the experience easier for users.
