Clear skies across North Texas following line of severe storms

North Texas skies clear out after storms with mid-week cooldown on the way

NORTH TEXAS – The First Alert Weather Day that was issued due to morning storms has ended.

There were scattered storms throughout North Texas Monday morning, bringing heavy rain and strong wind gusts ahead of the morning commute.

Severe thunderstorm warnings as well as a tornado watch were in effect for most of North Texas during the early morning hours but fizzled out by 10 a.m.

Skies across Dallas-Fort Worth have cleared and temperatures are back into the lower 70s.

Tuesday morning will be noticeably cooler with dry air in place and clear skies. Temperatures will drop into the 40s. Tuesday is looking beautiful with highs once again in the lower 70s. 

Tuesday night, a strong cold front will move through the area keeping afternoon temperatures on Wednesday in the low 60s.

A First Alert Weather Day has been issued for Wednesday due to the much cooler temperatures and breezy winds which will add a chill to the air.

A seasonal dry week continues into the weekend with chilly mornings.
