DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Cowboys COO Stephen Jones touched on many things related to what could be in store for the Cowboys off-season with the GBAG Nation today.

Jones was asked if the Cowboys would have an interest in players that fit the Brandon Weeden profile of being a former first round pick that didn't work out with the team that selected them.

"You can't just say because one situation didn't work out, it doesn't mean another one won't. Mark Colombo was a first round pick with the Bears and he went on and had a great career here for the Cowboys," said Jones. "Every situation is different, we'll continue to evaluate people that we had (high) on our draft board and had reason to believe that they could be good players... that the situation may have been that it just wasn't the right situation for that particular player. We'll continue to go down the road of looking at players that we had high on our draft board that didn't work out for other teams."

A couple names could qualify for that situation, both of which have Texas ties.

It's no secret that Johnny Manziel was coveted by Jerry Jones in the 2014 NFL draft. Unfortunately for Jerry, he lost the argument to the room and the Cowboys went on to draft offensive guard Zach Martin instead. Another name of significance is former Baylor University star Robert Griffin III. Griffin will be available after the Redskins opted to go with Kirk Cousins as their franchise quarterback. However, RG3 will most likely get an opportunity to start, unlike Manziel.

Jones also discussed Dez Bryant's surgery in the off-season and the possibility of the Cowboys' coaches coaching in the Senior Bowl.
