DALLAS (AP) — The Dallas Stars have acquired goaltender Jhonas Enroth from the Buffalo Sabres in exchange for goalie Anders Lindback and a third-round pick in the 2016 draft.

The move Wednesday is the latest effort to shore up a shaky defense that has kept high-scoring Dallas chasing a playoff berth most of the season.

Enroth was the starter for the last-place Sabres, going 13-21-2 with a .903 save percentage and 3.27 goals-against average. He will be Kari Lehtonen's backup unless Lehtonen falters as he has at times this season.

Lindback, who signed with the Stars last summer, didn't offer much of an alternative, going 2-8 with a .875 save percentage and 3.71 goals-against average.

Lehtonen is coming off a strong finish to a road trip with wins in New York and Boston.
