DALLAS (105.3 THE FAN) - Don't hit the panic button Stars fans. I know it's frustrating and Chicago's acquisition of Winnipeg's Captain Andrew Ladd didn't help those frustrations as the Stars battle the Hawks for the division lead.

The NHL Trade Deadline is on Monday and with the recent slide losing their last three of four, Stars fans are hoping for a quick fix. Especially in the last three games the men in green have given up 18 goals. Team defense is in a slump and both goaltenders are in a slide. With all that said, the Stars shouldn't pull off a big deal before Monday's trade deadline. Trust GM Jim Nill and his patience.

Are rentals worth it? Here are two perfect examples why quick rentals can sting for years to come.

Mattias Janmark has been an unexpected bright spot for the Stars this season with 25 points. We quickly forget that he joined the Stars in a deal that sent Erik Cole to the Red Wings. The Stars also received Mattias Backman in that deal and he's played well in the AHL for the Texas Stars. The Stars also received an early round draft pick.

For years to come, Flip Forsberg will be a Stars nemesis playing for division rival Nashville. He was actually Washington Capitals property. The Caps wanted to make a Stanley Cup run and traded Forsberg to the Predators in return for forward Martin Erat back in 2013. The Capitals were bounced in the 1st round of the playoffs.

The future is bright for the Stars and unlike the past, GM Jim Nill and his staff put great value on building from within. After this season, the Stars have some big decisions due to free agency. Alex Goligoski, Jason Demers, Travis Moen, Vernon Fiddler, Jordie Benn, Patrick Eaves, and Colton Sceviour become unrestricted free agents. Restricted free agents include Valeri Nichushkin and Jamie Oleksiak.

Names like Brett Ritchie, Jyrki Jokipakka, Radek Faksa, Jamie Oleksiak, Julius Honka, Jason Dickinson, Curtis McKenzie, Esa Lindell, Devin Shore, Denis Gurianov, are going to fill many of those voids next year and for years to come. The best way to stay cap friendly is to build from within.

You aren't going to be able to bring in another goalie. If you want to trade a mid-round pick for a veteran blue liner, I'm fine with that but Stars fans have to be patient. This team has shown tremendous progress this year and it will only get better.

I would rather get booted out of this year's playoffs than see one of our youngsters turn into the next Flip Forsberg.

Be patient Stars fans, the future is bright.
