DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Dallas Stars play-by-play announcer Dave Strader has been diagnosed with cancer, the team announced Monday afternoon.

The team didn't release any other details on Strader's condition at this time.

Strader just completed his first season as the voice of the Stars after taking over for Ralph Strangis following his 25-year run with the team.

Before joining the Stars, Strader was the number 2 play-by-play caller for the NHL on NBC and the NHL on NBC Sports Network.
