ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Jordan Spieth will throw out the ceremonial first pitch before Tuesday's 7:05 p.m. game with the Seattle Mariners at Globe Life Park in Arlington.
Spieth, who assumed the top position in the official World Golf Rankings with his second place finish in this past weekend's PGA Championship, won the first two legs of golf's 2015 Grand Slam with his victories at the Masters in April and the U.S. Open in June.
The Rangers will also recognize the Dallas native's extensive community contributions. In a pre-game presentation, the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation will make a donation to the Jordan Spieth Family Foundation, which focuses on giving back to youth with special needs as well as military families and junior golf.
The 22-year-old Spieth previously performed ceremonial first pitch honors at Globe Life Park on May 21, 2013 when the Rangers played Oakland.
