DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — Some Southwest Airlines flights are being held up while the airline tries to fix a technology outage.

Southwest Airlines Co. said Wednesday that it began having intermittent problems with several systems after an outage.

A spokeswoman says the Dallas-based airline is dealing with flight delays across its system and temporarily stopped flights that have not left their airport gate.

The spokeswoman says systems are gradually coming back but it may take time before the airline resumes normal operations.

A spokesperson released a statement on Wednesday's issues.

We apologize to our customers whose travel plans are impacted. We have a team of experts working diligently to resolve the technical issues and their efforts have systems gradually coming back online.  We expect to continue our move toward a normal operation but believe it will take time.  Updates will be posted on our Southwest Facebook page and Twitter accounts.
