DALLAS (1080 KRLD) - Delays and cancellations continue for Southwest Airlines on Friday morning after a massive computer outage knocked systems off-line on Wednesday.

Accordint to the Dallas based airline, the computer glitch surfaced Wednesday afternoon and affected flights all across  the nation.

The airline's app and website were also down during the problem.

For the most part, Southwest's systems were back up and running Thursday morning, but disruptions continued.

The airline cancelled about 1,000 flights over the two day period. In all, about 20% of Southwest's daily departures were affected.

The company is asking passengers to be patient, because delays could linger for awhile.

This morning at Dallas Love Field, Southwest still has about a dozen cancellations...and a handful of delays.
