DALLAS (KRLD) - New developments in the search for a capital murder suspect in last month's murder of a dentist.

First, Brenda Delgado was indicted Thursday.  The indictment says a drug cartel may be involved in Kendra Hatcher's murder.  The indictment says Delgado promise Kristopher Love drugs and money, both from herself and a drug cartel to kill Hatcher.

The Dallas dentist was in a relationship with Delgado's ex-boyfriend.

Authorities have been searching for Brenda Delgado since shortly after Hatcher's murder in September in her Uptown apartment garage.

At the time, police zeroed in on three people. Kristopher Love is jailed as the gunman.  Crystal Cortes is accused of driving Love to the garage.  But the person police say was behind the scheme is Brenda Delgado, the ex-girlfriend of the man Hatcher was dating.

Sources tell KRLD authorities know where she is in Mexico.

The sources say a relative put Delgado on a bus to Mexico shortly after it became clear she was a person of interest. The sources say federal authorities have been working with the Mexican government on extradition but the case has to be precise. Former Dallas County Judge John Creuzot says it's a technical process that has to run through specific steps.

"They would have to show that there's an indictment or an investigation… probably an indictment," says Creuzot. And then they would have to show that the person they're asking to be sent to the United States is one and the same individual."

The Mexican Government does not extradite people who could face the death penalty so the State will have to take that off the table.
