Sooners Sign 4 Basketball Recruits

NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma says it has signed high schoolers Kristian Doolittle, Matthew Freeman and Kameron McGusty and junior college product Darrion Strong.

Doolittle, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward from Edmond (Okla.) Memorial, averaged 17.5 points and a Class 6A-leading 12.0 rebounds per game as a junior.

Freeman, a 6-9 forward from Auckland, New Zealand, averaged 17.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.5 assists for the Asian Pacific Team at the recent Adidas Global Nations. OU said Thursday that he will enroll in January.

McGusty, 6-5 guard from Katy, Texas, is ranked as the nation's 33rd and 40th overall recruit by Scout.com and ESPN.com, respectively.

Strong, a 6-1 guard from Oakdale, Minnesota, currently attends Coffeyville Community College in Kansas. He was named a third-team junior college All-American as a freshman last season.
