Social Media Threat Leads To Lockdowns

DALLAS (CBS11) - Lincoln High School in South Dallas lifted a modified lockdown around 4:30 p.m. Monday after a social media post threatened students.
The post that vaguely mentioned "all Lincoln students" forced lockdowns at several Lincoln schools nationwide, including others in Florida and Michigan.
"We did not receive anything by way of a direct threat to Dallas Lincoln High School," said principal Chanel Howard-Veazy. "A student came in and indicated, while she was on the bus, riding to school, she noticed that someone was on a social media post. She saw that there was a threat to a Lincoln High School on the social media post."
The post claims that four gunmen would hide weapons in backpacks and open fire around lunch time.
Dallas ISD contacted parents immediately after the lockdown. Some parents decided to pick their children up early.
"I did come to get my daughter because of her," said Regina Frank. "She was nervous, and afraid… and you expect that from a kid."
Police will work with investigators from other effected cities to find the origin of the threat.
