Social Media Helps Police Nab 3 Suspected Burglars

DALLAS (CBS11) -The Henne family knew what they had to do with their surveillance video when their Southwest Dallas home was burglarized Thursday afternoon.
"Blasted it out over Facebook and everything, and within hours somebody got in contact with my nephew, and it just went like wildfire from there," said John Henne, the brother of the burglary victim.
The video showed one man at the front door, then three men raiding a room and taking off with nine rifles and two pistols. It received more than 8,000 shares on Facebook.
"One of them's got his face covered, but as soon as he starts grabbing guns, they all started looking straight in the camera," said Henne.
Grand Prairie and Dallas police said they backtracked the suspects to a Grand Prairie house Friday and tried to serve a burglary warrant.
"When we came by, that's when we saw suspect exit back, look at the police presence and run back in, and that's where it all started," said Officer Lyle Gensler with the Grand Prairie Police Department.
It took about 45 minutes of negotiations before the three men came out with their hands raised. They were in custody and being interviewed late Friday afternoon, according to Dallas Police.
John Henne said the suspects should be thankful no one was home when they burglarized his brother.
"I think they're lucky they're alive, because if there'd been somebody at the house, we'd be talking about something different right now probably," he said.
The Henne family said they don't recognize the suspects in the video and do not believe this was an inside job.
Dallas Police identified the suspects Friday night as Austen Stanforth, 20, Bobby Kish,17 and Francisco Herrera,17. They were all arrested for home burglary, second degree felony.
