DENTON (1080 KRLD) - At UNT, students were trying to cook up a sweet treat, but instead ended up flooding their room, and the dorm.

According to university officials, the students set off the sprinklers in Kerr Hall when they tried using a cigarette lighter to make smores in their fifth floor dorm room.

Margarita Venegas with UNT says this happened about 2:00 am Monday...and an hour later water was everywhere.

Venegas says that the students did violate the policy against open flames in the dorms - but it was deemed to be an accident and officials will decide if there will be any other disciplinary measures.

Nobody was injured but about 120 students were relocated and will stay in other housing for the last 2 weeks of school.
