ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) - Site work on the Texas Live! development has started in Parking Lot A adjacent to Globe Life Park.
The storm water management system is being constructed and work has been done on the confirmation of utility lines, according to a news release from the Texas Rangers Thursday evening.
A large site billboard was erected on Thursday, and perimeter fencing will begin to go up in the next few days.
The first phase of the project will include 200,000 square feet of premier dining and entertainment space; a 5,000-capacity outdoor event pavilion; a full-service 300-room convention hotel; and a 35,000 square foot meeting/convention facility.
City of Arlington leaders and the Rangers say Texas Live! will bring more than 3,000 new jobs and three million new visitors to Arlington upon its opening in 2018.
The dining and entertainment portion of the project will open in the Spring of 2018 with Opening Day and the hotel/convention facility will open in the Fall of 2018.
