Shooting Scare At University Of Oklahoma Campus
DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - Normal operations have resumed on The University of Oklahoma's Norman campus, after the university issued a campus wide alert warning about a shooting.
Around 11:30 a.m., the school placed an alert on its website and sent out a Twitter message with the warning. Students also received text message alerts.
The message read, "Shooting on campus. Avoid Gould Hall. Seek immediate shelter in place."
At 11:17 a.m., police got a report of shots fired on campus. Norman Police assisted with response and helped to set up a perimeter. They were not aware of any victims.
Around 12:00 p.m., students could be seen streaming out of Gould Hall in a calm manner.
The university tweeted that operations were back to normal, except for in Gould Hall where police continued to check the area. OU also tweeted that at this time, there are no injuries reported and no evidence that any shots have been fired.
