It was around 9:00 p.m. when police were called to the 2000 block of Highwood Drive, near East Miller Road, after getting reports of shots fired.

After some investigation, detectives said they believed Duncan and another teenager, later identified as Sabir Arebo Adem, got into some sort of altercation. It was during that fight when Duncan was shot.

After interviewing witnesses investigators say they learned Adem was the person involved in the altercation with Duncan and that he'd left the area after the shooting.

Adem, 18, was ultimately found and taken into custody. He is charged with murder and is being held in the Garland Jail. No bond has been set.
