Sheriff: Man Left 'Selfie' At Site Of Texas Pot Farm
SUGAR LAND, Texas (CBSDFW.COM/AP) -- Authorities were unable to make an arrest when they raided a south Texas marijuana farm last week. But the abandoned farm did contain one vital piece of evidence: a selfie.
Fort Bend County sheriff's deputies are now searching for Benigno Ramirez of Michoacan, Mexico, according to The Houston Chronicle.
Authorities say they found a phone with his picture on a 4-acre farm raided last week.
The farm near Oyster Creek was accessible only by boat. It had as many as 10,000 marijuana plants with an estimated street value of $10 million.
Authorities say they believe Ramirez had a key role in the farm.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call 281-342-8477. A reward of up to $5,000 is available for information leading to an arrest and charges.
Fort Bend County is southwest of Houston.
