NORTH TEXAS (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — A large swath of North Texas has seen flooding, baseball sized hail, thunderstorms, and tornadoes. Conditions this weekend are ripe for storm development.

Nearly 50 Texas counties are under a tornado watch, and at least one tornado warning had been reported by late afternoon.

Heavy rains will produce near instant flooding in areas already hit hard this week.

Tornado on Highway 6 south of Eastland:

Residents are expecting large hail in parts of western Kansas, western Colorado and the Oklahoma and Texas panhandles. There is also a tropical storm lurking off the East Coast. Twin weather systems are being blamed for storms stretching from the Carolinas to California.
