Severe Weather Threat in Progress

There is a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 9pm for most of the north Texas area including the Metroplex:

T'Storm Warnings have already been issued on the cells moving over Wise and moving into Denton and Cooke Counties. Hail up to 1" has been reported; expect 60mph winds with these cells as well.

We expect the line to continue to fill in to the southwest as it moves in the Metroplex. The greater risk of severe weather will be across Dallas county and to the north.

As we get to the end of the day the storms will continue to increase in coverage as the risk moves east of the Metroplex. The risk of severe weather will be east of Dallas by 5-6pm.

Stayed tuned to CBS11 for the latest on the this Severe Weather Threat. Large hail and damaging winds are the primary concern but isolated tornadoes are possible.
