CELINA (CBSDFW.COM) — Wise, Denton, and Collin counties are facing severe flooding this weekend, with heavy rains creating a series of washout situations.
Rain came down so fast in Celina, homeowners say they were ankle-deep in water within minutes of the downpour.
Drainage flow was put on a near standstill around the city's road construction. An elevator was used by the Celina Public Works Department used to clear a path so the water could drain.

The Red Cross is on the scene and helping families who are unable to stay in their homes overnight.
The Department of Transportation is warning motorists to avoid driving through water over six inches deep.
More flooding is expected throughout the weekend. On Friday crews worked to reopen a North Texas train line after flooding washed away the tracks; 17 cars of a freight train derailed.
