DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - A slow speed chase involving a stolen semi tractor ended peacefully in a Sprouts parking lot in Dallas in the 1800 block of N. Henderson shortly after 6:00 p.m.

Chopper 11 was over the scene as the driver stopped and police approached with guns drawn.

Officers pulled the suspect from the cab, pushed him to the ground, handcuffed him and took him into custody.

The chase started in Seagoville after 5:30 p.m. Monday when the idling tractor trailer was taken from outside a convenience store.

Deputies deployed spike strips, eventually resulting in the deflation of the semi tractor's tires.

On Wednesday the suspect was identified as Christopher Shawn Martin, 50, of Terrell.

Police said he has an extensive criminal history.

Martin is being held in the Seagoville City Jail on an outstanding parole violation warrant as he awaits arraignment on felony theft and evading arrest.
