DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - An unusual crime involving two thieves in Lakewood has a homeowner scratching his head over what was stolen from him earlier in the week.

After pulling security camera footage from his home, Levi Fey realized someone has taken his flowerpots from his front yard.

"It's sad," said Fey. "I just couldn't believe someone would steal pots and just (feel) violated."

The camera footage shows a driver and passenger get out of their vehicle just before 12:00 a.m. near Abrams Road and East University Boulevard.

The duo casually walked up to the steps of Fey's home and take both flower pots.

"They didn't think they could be stopped. They just thought it was the easiest thing in the world," said Fey.

Even though the pots were only $40 a piece, Fey worries the thieves could step up their game if they are not caught.

"I mean they are flower pots and I agree, the flower pots are petty. But it's what they did that's not petty," said Fey.

After posting the video on Facebook, dozens of user on a neighborhood page began commenting. Some residents admitted that a similar crime had happened to them.

Dallas Police were notified of the situation and have not yet responded to requests for information surrounding the incidents.
