Second Human Case Of WNV Reported In Dallas County

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) -  Dallas County Health and Human Services has confirmed the second human case of West Nile infection in Dallas County for the 2016 season.

The resident lives in the 75216 zip code in Dallas and was diagnosed with West Nile neuroinvasive disease.

"Our mosquito surveillance program and the county and municipal abatement teams are taking appropriate actions to ensure the safety of our residents. However, it is important for residents to take the necessary precautions," said Zachary Thompson, DCHHS director.
