ARLINGTON (CBSDFW.COM) -- The Seattle Mariners and slugger Nelson Cruz have agreed on a 4-year, $57 million deal, CBS Sports' Jon Heyman has confirmed.

The 34-year-old Cruz enjoyed the most productive season of his career in 2014, hitting .271 with 40 home runs and 108 RBI.

The three-time All Star (2009, 2013, 2014) spent 8 seasons in Texas after the Rangers acquired him via trade in 2006.

Cruz was suspended 50 games by Major League Baseball in 2013 for his role in the Biogenesis scandal. He departed Texas by signing a one-year deal with Baltimore valued at $8 million.

Seattle won 80+ games for the first time since 2009 last season (87-75), but finished third in the AL West.

The deal was first reported by El Caribe. Seattle has not confirmed that a deal has been reached.
