School Cop Accused Of Demanding To Smell Woman's Socks

HOUSTON (CBSDFW.COM/AP) — A Texas school district police officer has been charged with misdemeanor official oppression after he was accused of demanding to smell the socks and underwear of a woman he had stopped.

Patrick Quinn is free on $2,000 bond after his weekend arraignment in the Houston-area.

In a statement, the Harris County District Attorney's Office says a woman reported Quinn, an officer with the Cypress-Fairbanks school district, stopped her vehicle August 11 and said he smelled marijuana in it. After a search, Quinn said he found a marijuana grinder. The woman said it was hers.

Quinn then told her he'd release her if she'd let him smell her feet, then asked for a piece of her underwear. When she handed it to him, he reconsidered and released her.

A call to Quinn's attorney wasn't returned.
