FORNEY (CBSDFW.COM) - There was a crash involving a school bus in Kaufman County on Friday morning, just outside of the Forney city limits. It happened at around 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of FM 548 and Reeder Lane.

Images from the scene show a Forney Independent School District bus that hit a white SUV in the driver's side door. Damage was visible to the windshield and front grill of the school bus, along with heavy damage to the other vehicle.

According to Sgt. Lonny Haschel with the Texas Department of Public Safety, the bus was traveling northbound along FM 548 when the SUV pulled in front of it from Reeder Lane. The bus was unable to avoid a crash and struck the SUV.

Haschel said that there were 29 children on board the school bus at the time of the crash, and three of them were transported to a nearby hospital. They have all since been treated and released. Another bus took the remaining students to North Forney High School and Brown Middle School.
