Savannah's Meadow Tree House Resort

Tree houses are the stuff of legend and, if you were lucky enough, childhood memories. Just east of McKinney in Celeste there is a tree house resort called Savannah's Meadow.
Now when I say "Tree House", I don't mean a few boards up in a tree swaying in the wind. These tree houses are full sizes luxury suites in big oak trees surrounded by woods.
"These things are air conditioned, they have full bathrooms, kitchens with refrigerators and ya know...it's just amazing!" said co-owner of Savannah's Meadow Ron Van Volkenburgh.
Ron and Susan Van Volkenburg took me on a walking tour of Savannah's Meadow to visit the two tree houses. Our first stop along the magical tree lined road was the Bear Creek Tree House.
"We actually think of it more as a house in the trees. It actually straddles a creek and sits on six trees" Ron added.
The other tree house is called Majestic Oak and has been featured on the Animal Planet TV show called Treehouse Masters.
"It is actually built around a giant oak tree, it is a majestic oak" Ron explained.
Savannah's Meadow is about 30 minutes east of McKinney in Celeste. JD Ryan is hanging out in the trees...Around Town!
