SANSOM PARK (AP) - Police say an officer has fatally shot an armed man in a North Texas home.

The Sansom Park police department confirmed Monday that one of its officers was involved in the shooting on Friday night. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner's office says 57-year-old David Grayson died from gunshot wounds to the neck and chest.

Police say Grayson was armed with a knife and holding a woman inside the home when officers responded to a domestic disturbance call. They say one officer fired shots at Grayson, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The officer's identity hasn't been released.

The Texas Rangers and the Tarrant County Sheriff's Office are investigating.
