Action Against San Antonio Officers Who Wore Trump Hats

SAN ANTONIO, TX (CBSDFW.COM) – The San Antonio Police Department released a statement today that outlined actions that would be taken against their police officers who wore Trump campaign hats while assisting the U.S. Secret Service a recent rally.

"I have met personally with the involved officers and the following corrective action will be taken," said San Antonio Police Chief William McManus. "Six supervisors will be issued a written reprimands and seventeen officers will be provided written counseling," he continued in the written statement.
A video on Republican Presidential Nominee, Donald Trump's Twitter account showed at least 14 members of his motorcycle escort wearing the signature red caps after escorting Trump to San Antonio International Airport on Tuesday, October 11.
In the 25-second video, Trump is heard saying "Thank you, fellas" to the officers. Several officers then thank the Republican presidential nominee and gave him a thumbs-up sign.
"The San Antonio Police Department is dedicated to the citizens that we serve," McManus continued. "Our mission is to treat all people with integrity, compassion, fairness and respect. The recent actions by the officers assigned to the escort detail for the presidential candidate are inconsistent with our guiding principles."
