Salvation Army Set To Start Collecting Gifts For Children & Special Needs Adults

DALLAS (CBSDFW.COM) - The Salvation Army has secured nearly a dozen North Texas locations where they will begin collecting donated Christmas gifts for more than 50,000 children and special needs adults in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Officials say they expect to collect more than 250,000 gifts through the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, which begins Friday, November 6. Anyone wanting to donate can select an Angel tag from a Christmas tree at a participating shopping mall. Each tag will list the child's first name, age, gender, clothing sizes, wish item, and need item.

Donations will be accepted November 6 through December 9. The gifts will be handed out in Dallas, Tarrant, Collin, Denton, and Ellis counties beginning on December 16.

Angel tree gifts will be collected at the following 11 North Texas shopping malls:

  • Collin Creek Mall
  • Galleria Dallas
  • Golden Triangle Mall
  • Grapevine Mills Mall
  • Hulen Mall
  • North East Mall
  • NorthPark Center
  • Parks at Arlington
  • Ridgmar Mall
  • The Shops at Willow Bend
  • Town East Mall
