Rosie the Riveter mural unveiled at Rosie Memorial Rose Garden

FORT WORTH (CBSNewsTexas.com) - A face you may be familiar with is making a comeback in Fort Worth. 

The Vintage Flying Museum and the Fort Worth Rose Society unveiled a new "Rosie the Riveter" mural Saturday. North Richland Hills artists Lisa Henson and her daughter Nicole Damon painted the mural together. They spent 80 hours covering the brick wall at the Rosie Memorial Rose Garden.

The Rose Memorial Garden honors the Rosies of North Texas, who were "serving on the home front during World War II." 

One of the original riveters, Grace Brown, attended the mural unveiling. Brown, who is now 101 years old, once helped construct aircraft while men were at war.

You can see the mural in person at the Vintage Flying Museum on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays for free, walking through the Rose Garden. Along with Rosie, the mural features aircraft that were built in places like Consolidated Aircraft, North American Aviation and Vought Aircraft. If you'd like to learn more about the aircraft, you can tour the museum on the weekends, as well—adult tickets are $12, teens/senior citizens $10, children 6-12 $7 and children under 6 get in for free.
