FRISCO (105.3 The Fan) — The Romo Ramp-Up continues.

Tony Romo took to the Cowboys practice field with his team for the second straight day on Thursday, but this time his appearance came complete with a helmet and his familiar No. 9 jersey.

Rookie Dak Prescott remains at the top of the QB rotation, taking the first-team snaps at the beginning of the workout indoors at The Star in Frisco, and Mark Sanchez was the No. 2 guy. Romo — who for the first time all regular season was on the field on Wednesday earing a T-shirt and shorts while throwing individual trills and pat-and-go to his uniformed teammates — entered the action on Thursday when it was time for more drills and more pat-and-go.

Cowboys coach Jason Garrett continues talk about Romo as being "day-by-day,'' and it's true. Prescott and Sanchez are the Nos. 1 and 2 quarterbacks for this week's visit from the Eagles, and that may not change for the 5-1 Cowboys when they travel to Cleveland the week after that. But sources tell me that Romo's issue now isn't more healing of the broken bone in his back, but rather the conditioning that it takes to allow him mobility and fluidity in the pocket.

That's part of the process … as is a helmet and that familiar No. 9 jersey.
