ARLINGTON (AP) — Tony Romo has left Dallas' game against Washington with an apparent injury after he was sacked in the third quarter.

Romo stayed on the ground for several minutes after turning backward and ducking while linebacker Keenan Robinson closed in on the quarterback on Monday night. There was no immediate update on an injury.

He reached for his back after the hit and was motionless before trainers rolled him onto his side. He walked to the locker room mostly under his own power.

The 34-year-old Romo had surgery for a herniated disk last December after getting hurt in a win over the Redskins. It was the second procedure on his back in an eight-month stretch.

Brandon Weeden replaced Romo on the next series for Dallas.
