Roger Goodell Will Not Arbitrate Greg Hardy's Appeal

NORTH TEXAS (CBS 11 SPORTS) - The NFL has confirmed to CBS 11 Sports that commissioner Roger Goodell has waived his authority to hear Greg Hardy's appeal of his 10-game suspension.
Hardy's appeal is expected to be heard on May 28.
According to statement from an NFL spokesperson, Goodell has, "appointed Harold Henderson as his designee to hear and decide the appeal in accordance with the procedures of the CBA."
Henderson served as the arbitrator in Adrian Peterson's appeals case last season. He ultimately upheld the suspension of Peterson, even though the Minnesota Vikings running back's violation had been committed before the NFL's new domestic violence policy was established.
Hardy was officially suspended for conduct detrimental to the league. Last summer, Hardy was convicted of two counts of domestic violence against his former girlfriend in North Carolina. Though the charges were eventually dismissed, the NFL conducted its own investigation and determined that a league punishment was necessary.
The Dallas Cowboys signed a one-year deal with Pro Bowl pass-rusher in March. Including incentives, the contract could be worth up to $13.1 million. But Hardy will lose a good portion of that money for every game he is suspended.
