ARLINGTON (105.3 The Fan) - The Rangers went to the old magic hat again on Thursday, but this time their was no rabbit to be found.

A hot and humid slugfest in Arlington ended in a 12-9 Rangers loss, snapping a five-game winning streak.

Texas had previously come from behind to beat the Rockies in the previous three games.

The Rangers appeared to finally have things under control heading to the 8th inning with a 9-7 lead. However, that's when things unraveled. Reliever Jake Diekman recorded one out and was charged with three earned runs. One of those and two others came on a bases-clearing double by pinch hitter Carlos Gonzalez off of Matt Bush. Gonzalez had mostly missed every game in the home and home 4-game series with an ankle injury. He started the first game in Colorado, before leaving after the first inning.

The Texas offense was powered by Rougned Odor's 2-run homerun and RBI triple. Moreland had three hits, and few others had a multi-hit game.

Rangers starter Lucas Harrell gave up six runs in six innings of work. He did battle, however, as he didn't allow any runs in the 5th or 6th. He struck out 8 on the day.

Texas welcomes Ian Kinsler and the Detroit Tigers to Arlington for the first of three on Friday night.
